Responsibilities
Combining performance and sustainability
For Qualium Investissement, the consideration of extra-financial issues throughout the investment cycle and the support of portfolio companies contributes to the creation of value, benefiting all stakeholders (shareholders, management and employees of portfolio companies, customers, suppliers …) by allowing:
- Better control of risks and companies’ impact on the environment;
- Optimized cost management;
- The development of products and services that meet specific environmental or social needs.
A global approach
Contributing at our level to major challenges, particularly environmental ones, and ensuring the sustainability of growth is our responsibility as investors.
Qualium is involved in encouraging the emergence of sustainable models in the world of private investment and contributing to certain sustainable development objectives such as gender equality, access to decent jobs or the reduction of inequalities.
Being a responsible investor
In 2008, Qualium became a signatory of the France Invest Charter (formerly AFIC) and, as a member, has since supported the steps taken by the profession.
In 2010, Qualium also became a signatory of the PRI (Principles for Responsible Investment), and has thus reinforced the consideration of environmental, social and corporate governance issues in its investment practices.
In 2014, Qualium published its first Responsible Investor Charter.
Finally, in order to strengthen its climate commitments, Qualium Investissement joined the international Climate initiative (iCi) in 2020.
ESG in the investment policy
As a medium/long term investor, Qualium Investissement has the capacity to promote the implementation of sustainable practices in portfolio companies and wishes to integrate social, societal and environmental considerations in each of the different phases of the investment process.
The due diligence and action plans, determined jointly with the management of the companies supported, concern all the companies in the portfolio. They are adapted to the sectors of activity and specificities of each company and they are communicated on a regular basis to our stakeholders.
France Invest Charter, Charter for parity and value-sharing Charter
France Invest (formerly AFIC) initiated charters for the profession in 2008 on ESG aspects and in 2020 to specifically promote gender parity in management companies and portfolio companies.
Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI)
In 2010, Qualium became a signatory of the PRI. The management company is organized in such a way as to be able to analyze and integrate ESG aspects in a structured manner during its due diligence prior to any investment, then during its support phase as a responsible shareholder.
iCi Commitments
In 2020, Qualium took a new step by joining the iCi, thus adopting a 5-year roadmap for both the management company and the portfolio companies.
Within the management company
As a management company, Qualium is committed to all its stakeholders: investors, employees, suppliers, service providers, etc. to continuously improve the impact of its activity and guarantee its transparency.
